Fun Games to Play Outside Kickball!
Fun Games to Play Outside: Kickball!

Kickball. This word may conjure up memories of elementary school and a huge red ball. The game is still the same today although it’s not just for kids anymore!
There has been a resurgence in adult kickball the last few years. There are organizations around Colorado that play all year long! Charity events also host kickball events for fundraising opportunities. This is a great way for your family, friends or coworkers to get together, have some fun, raise some money for charity and get a little bit of exercise – all at the same time.
Rules of the Game:
Rules are simple. There are three bases and one home plate. Kick the ball and run around to all three bases, once you pass the home plate, your team scores one point. Much like baseball, the point of the game is to score more runs than the opposing team.
Kickball is a lot like baseball. There are 9 fielders on each team. Outs are treated the same way as in baseball--tag the player with the ball and they are out if they have not touching the base. Usually, a fielder can throw the ball at a base runner (below the waist) to get her out. Basically, if you know how to play baseball, you know how to play kickball.
Field positions:
- Pitcher
- Catcher
- First base
- Second base
- Third base
- Right field
- Left field
Leagues add base coaches and referees. Bunting is legal, so make sure to get a good catcher for this position! Don't have 18 people? That's okay, just combine some positions.
Remember to have fun!
